Thank you so much for the lovely messages of support we received last week after our initial CoronaVirus email.
As you will have probably seen, the UK has been put in lockdown and all retail outlets told to close. We do not believe we are a purely retail outlet, due to the medical nature of our business and how severely some people are affected when they cannot see. But, at the end of the day we have to put you - our patients, and our staff first. Therefore, we will only be open for ocular emergencies, collection of contact lenses and spectacle orders. We will have our Optometrist on hand to advise of appropriate action for any eye emergencies, so please call us first on our usual number so that we can talk this through with you first. Our dispensers will also be able to help with any last minute spectacle orders.
By the end of this week, we will close the York practice and move all operations to Wetherby for the time being. York telephones will be diverted to the Wetherby practice for any advice you need or any queries that you have. If you have any spectacle or contact lens orders still outstanding, we will contact you to arrange delivery once they arrive.
Wetherby will continue for now to be open but we recommend calling first to check that we can assist you or whether you will need to wait until after the lockdown. As mentioned above, we will make sure that we are at the end of the phone line for any help you may require.
If you have an appointment booked in the near future, our staff will contact you to ask you for the reason you need to be seen and if the appointment is routine they will arrange to rebook the appointment in the future.
We will try and update you again as the situation changes and will put any information on this page.
Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you all back soon.
